Self-love isn’t a luxury; it’s a necessity. But it’s also not as simple as lighting a candle and saying affirmations in the mirror. It’s a process—one that requires unlearning, relearning, and courage.
1. Loving Yourself Is Knowing Yourself
Be curious about who you are—not just your titles or roles. Watch how you move through life. Ask yourself why you do the things you do. Notice your patterns, your triggers, your passions. You can’t love what you don’t know.
2. Watch Your Inner Voice
One of the most powerful lessons I’ve learned: never criticize yourself.
You can reflect, even judge your behavior—but drop the self-criticism. When you stop the negative self-talk, you make space for growth, not shame.
3. Meet Yourself Where You Are
You are exactly where you’re meant to be right now.
When you accept that truth, you release the anxiety of needing to be somewhere else. This is your starting point. You don’t have to be perfect—you just have to be present.
4. Learn to Trust Yourself Through Action
Keep the promises you make to yourself. Set and honor your boundaries. Say no when you need to rest. Ask for help when you need support. Trust is built through consistent, small actions.
5. Have Compassion for Your Past Self
Forgive yourself for what you didn’t know, for what you couldn’t do. You were doing the best you could in that moment. And now that you know better, you can do better.
6. Be With Your Feelings
Don’t run. Don’t numb. Don’t distract yourself with busyness or substances.
Let yourself feel. Ride the wave of your emotions. They aren’t here to break you—they’re here to pass through you, if you let them.
7. Reflect Back Your Worth
Be with people who see your value and reflect it back to you.
Stay in spaces that honour you.
Walk away from anything that diminishes your light.
Standing in My Power
I am not the woman I was before.
I am stronger, wiser, and deeply rooted in myself.
And while I may still be growing, healing, and learning—I now know my worth. I know my depth. I know my magic.
So now, I stand only in places that recognize the full brilliance of who I am.
And if they don’t?
I walk away, with my head high and my soul intact.
Because I am amazing.
And I finally believe it.
If you’re on this path too…
You’re not alone.
Wherever you are in your journey—whether you’re just waking up to your own needs, or deep in the work of rediscovery—know this:
You are allowed to take up space.
You are allowed to change.
You are allowed to come home to yourself.
And when you do, you’ll realize what I have:
The world opens up when you do.
If you’re in the midst of your own divorce story — I see you. And I’m here.
Whether you need guidance, clarity, or just someone to hold space for your truth, reach out. You’re not alone.
